The Consultative Monitoring Group (CMG) is a coordinating and monitoring mechanism for social marketing in the Caribbean. It strives to ensure that national and regional social marketing programmes are implemented in a coordinated, effective and transparent manner in the region – in essence the CMG is a technical working group focusing on social marketing in the Caribbean. The CMG brings together national and regional actors, as well as development partners to maximise synergies for effective sexual and reproductive health social marketing programmes. The CMG is composed of:
- CARICOM/PANCAP
- Options Consultancy Services Ltd
- Directors of Social Marketing Organisations
- KfW
- UN agencies
- Other strategic regional and international partners.
The CMG meets annually to review progress of social marketing programmes (particularly the CARISMA II programme), and to harmonise operational plans for the following year. The CMG also serves as a platform for donor collaboration and transfer of practical know-how between the different social marketing organisations in the region.
