Christopher Brady, Team Leader

Christopher is a development professional with over 20 years' experience in programme design, management, strategic/project planning, marketing and impact evaluation. His specialised focus is in social marketing, organisational development, behaviour change communications, HIV & AIDS, family planning, malaria prevention and in-kind donations. He has managed a diverse portfolio of large-scale development programs in Africa, Asia, South Pacific, North and South America/Caribbean. Chris speaks Spanish and French and has an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management.

Christopher provides overall direction and oversight to the programme and is the primary liaison with the SMOs, PANCAP and KfW. He is based in California and travels regularly to the region.

Dr Joanne Hemmings, Research Manager

Joanne is a specialist in ethnographic and participatory research methods, survey design and analysis, and the integration of qualitative and quantitative approaches in sexual and reproductive health. Joanne has experience of working in Africa, Asia, the UK, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Her PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine explored the impact of infertility on women's lives in Malawi, integrating qualitative life history data with analysis of survey data. Joanne manages all aspects of the research, monitoring and evaluation of CARISMA. She is based in London with travel to the region.

Kate Gray, Programme Manager

Kate works alongside the Team Leader on all aspects of the programme, managing the operational and financial aspects of the CARISMA project. Kate has experience of working in Africa, South East Asia, and the Caribbean. She is based in London and travels regularly to the region.

Sue Dean, Contracts and Procurement Manager

Sue is a contracts specialist with 16 years’ experience managing multi-million pound international health projects. She has developed, negotiated and managed the implementation of a wide variety of health programmes, and is experienced in procurement and contracting procedures with a number of major donors. Sue leads the tendering process for subcontracting the SMOs and guides the SMOs on compliance in procurement, contracting and other regulations. She is based in London and speaks French and German.
