PSI Haiti TRaC Survey: Study among youth 15-24 years (2008)

PSI/Haiti’s youth HIV/AIDS prevention program promotes responsible sexual behavior. Three areas of focus are delayed sexual debut, partner reduction, and condom use. A first TRaC study, conducted in 2006, had two major objectives: 1) to describe levels on key behaviors, determinants of behavior, and exposure to PSI programming, and 2) to identify opportunity, ability, and motivation-related determinants of HIV/AIDS preventive behaviors. The current study is the second round of the TRaC series among youth aged 15-24 years in Haïti. Its objectives are to 1) track the behavioral indicators and the determinants measured in 2006 and to identify significant changes over time and 2) identify the determinants of sexual activity, number of partners and condom use in 2008 and 3) to determine the impact of PSI interventions between 2006 and 2008 on sexual activity, number of partners, and condom use.
