In 2009, CARISMA commissioned a study of the Dominican Republic’s (DR) condom market. The study was conducted by Euromonitor International. This document presents conclusions and implications of the research. This study was conducted to investigate the characteristics of the condom market in the DR, including commercial, social marketing and ‘free’ condom sectors. It researched the size of the overall condom market; leading brands; the main forms of distribution; drivers and trends in the market; and how condoms are priced and marketed. The methodology included store audits; internal data analysis and secondary research; and data validation via industry contacts.
