Country Context

Although no programme of CARISMA social marketing work takes place in Guyana, Georgetown is the home of CARICOM and PANCAP (the Pan-Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS).

PANCAP provides oversight to all aspects of the programme, but CARISMA also supports a small programme of work within PANCAP itself. Key work relates to:

• The development of a map of donor activity and funding opportunities in the Caribbean region including the design of a searchable web-based database designed in collaboration with stakeholders
• Providing financial supporting to fund a ‘Strategy and Resourcing Officer’ role within PANCAP itself. The Strategy and Resourcing Officer’s responsibilities include gathering and disseminating information about regional HIV and AIDS programmes; providing technical support in the operationalization of the PANCAP Caribbean Regional Strategic Framework, and identifying funding sources and training and development needs of PANCAP partners.
